FAQs & Helpful Information

Who does this online school teach?

International Online School & College in Oxford teaches students aged 5 to 11 in primary school, secondary school, and sixth form. Our school is fully online-based, so our education is available for students worldwide, with learners in the UK, France, Spain, South Africa, and more. What is online school?

Online school takes place over the internet rather than in a traditional classroom setting. Students access lessons, assignments, and learning materials through our online learning platform, allowing them to study from home or any location with internet access. Online school offers full-time and part-time learning options, and is used by students aged 5 to 18, from primary school to sixth form level. High-quality education is delivered through live video classes, on-demand lesson recordings, and additional tutoring/private lessons. Online schooling offers more flexibility around your schedule, with a personalised learning approach tailored to students' individual needs, making it a popular option for students with unique learning needs, health challenges, or demanding extracurricular commitments. International Online School & College takes pride in providing a welcoming and supportive learning environment that helps students grow and flourish in their studies as they build confidence in their abilities.

What is the difference between traditional and online schooling?

The main difference between online school and traditional school lies in how and where learning takes place. In a traditional school, students attend classes in person at a physical building, following a fixed daily schedule with face-to-face interaction with teachers and classmates. Learning is typically structured, with set class times, school rules, and group activities. In contrast, an online school allows students to learn remotely using a tablet or computer device and an internet connection. Classes are typically live or recorded, and students often have more flexibility in choosing when and how they learn. Communication happens digitally through live classes, still providing a great amount of social interaction between students and their teachers. Online schools provide greater flexibility, personalised learning, and the ability to study from any location. Whether online school is the right fit for you and your child will depend on the student's learning style, schedule, and personal needs.

What curriculum does your online school follow?

International Online School & College in Oxford follows the Cambridge and UK national curricula for primary school and years 7, 8, and 9 in secondary school. We then move on to following either the Cambridge or Edexcel curriculum for IGCSEs (years 10 and 11) and A-levels (years 12 and 13), depending on student preference. The curriculum we offer allows us to provide a wide selection of subjects for pupils to select from, ranging from core subjects to technology-based courses, art-based classes, and more. Our curriculum builds essential transferable skills for students' futures and focuses on preparing them for the diverse world around them.
