MATHS & ENGLISH DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS
Our online school has developed English & Maths Development Pathways (EDP & MDP) to support students of all abilities during their secondary school studies. We offer additional English & Maths support through our Core Skills course which can be taken alongside Year 9 and Year 10. This course is designed to cover the fundamental aspects of English and Maths to help students grow their confidence and understanding.
Maths Development Pathway
Our Maths Development Pathway follows the main pathway, which is highlighted in yellow, from Year 7 to A Levels. After completing Year 10, students can choose whether to study Year 11 Core or Extended Maths depending on their confidence in the subject.

We also offer Additional Maths courses, that can be taken alongside the main pathway after Year 9, which are designed for students with a more advanced understanding of Maths.

If learners feel that they need additional support in Maths, they can instead take our Core Skills course alongside Year 9 & Year 10. This is designed to provide students with a better understanding of the foundational Maths skills.
Our Maths Development Pathway focuses on providing students with the support they need to excel. Through offering a range of pathway options, learners can choose their maths learning plan based on their preferences and abilities. Our online school focuses on students' individual learning requirements to ensure everyone feels supported in their education.

English Development Pathway
Our English Development Pathway starts as a combined English Language & English Literature course in Year 7. From Year 7 onwards, students have the opportunity to choose whether they study English Language, English Literature, or both.

Through English Language, students can receive additional support via our English Core Skills course. This course covers the foundational aspects of the English Language and helps to enhance learners' understanding of the subject.
English Literature
Through English Literature, students will study film and cinematography, plays and playwriting, novels and short stories, and narrative structure within texts. This introduces learners to the key concepts included within English Literature, and it gives them a taste of the depth of which poetry and poetry writing can take them.

English Language
Through the English Language, students will learn about the key concepts involving listening, reading, writing, and communication. Learners will read and analyse information, as well as develop a passion for reading often. Students will explore a variety of essay and transactional pieces by writing precisely and consistently, adapting their language and style for a range of contexts, purposes, and audiences.
