Foreign Languages Development Pathways
Our online school has developed Foreign Languages Development Pathways to ensure stdents have a strong foundational understanding of their chosen language(s) that they can build upon across primary school, secondary school, and sixth form. Pupils can tailor their learning pathway depending on their own confidence and abilities, providing a more personalised approach for learners of all levels and abilities.
Our Languages Development Pathway makes languages accessible to all students of different abilities. If pupils have no prior knowledge or very little experience in the language, we recommend starting at level 1, as that is our beginners class. From level 1, students would have built a solid foundational understanding to build upon in levels 2 and 3 before studying for their IGCSEs.

If students have some prior experience in the language, they can choose to start at level 2 instead. We recommend this pathway for students who already have an understanding of basic phrases, spoken sounds, and other areas of the language. Additionally, if students are already relatively confident in their language skills, they can skip straight to level 3. We only recommend skipping to level 3 for pupils who have a good level of prior knowledge of the language, as otherwise they won't be able to keep up with the content covered.

No matter what path pupils take, they will receive the support and guidance they need to excel in their chosen language subject(s).
